Decent workout, room for improvement

I attended a couple of the weekend bootcamps and found the strength and conditioning elements to be quite challenging, which is what I was looking for. The instructors were knowledgeable, though sometimes it felt a bit chaotic with a large group. I wish they had more clear instructions on where to park for the sessions, as it was a bit of a hassle the first time. Overall, good value for the price if you're looking for an outdoor workout, but a few small logistical tweaks would make it even better.

Good first session!

I tried out one of their morning bootcamp sessions last week and it was actually pretty fun. I was a bit nervous about the military style stuff but the instructor was really good and made everyone feel comfortable. I signed up for a monthly membership after, so that tells you something, right?

how long do these sessions usually last? trying to figure out if it fits my lunch break or if i need to block out more time.

J Julia 4 weeks ago
Most of the group classes are an hour. Some of the weekend ones might be longer if it's like a special event or something.

Yeah, usually 60 mins. Enough to get a good sweat on without taking up your whole day.

do they do any block booking discounts? like if i wanted to pay for a few months upfront instead of just monthly?

P Phil D. 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely do block booking discounts. Saves you a bit compared to just rolling monthly memberships. You'd have to ask them directly for the exact rates though.

I think you get a bit of a saving if you pay for multiple sessions or months at once. It's worth asking about when you're signing up.

I'm looking at different bootcamps in the area, how does Darlington Bootcamp compare to something like British Military Fitness or Be Military Fit? is it more intense, or more chill?

C Carly M. 1 month ago
From what I've heard, Darlington Bootcamp is a bit more focused on general fitness and accessibility for all levels compared to BMF which can be pretty hardcore. It's still tough though, don't get me wrong. Less 'shouting in your face' and more 'pushing you to do your best'.

It's a good middle ground I think. You'll definitely get a workout. BMF can feel a bit more... intense on the military side. Darlington feels like it strikes a good balance between that and regular gym stuff but outdoors.

thinking about signing up, but what's the deal with bad weather? if it's pouring down, do they just cancel or do you still train outside?

A Anna 3 weeks ago
They train rain or shine mate. It's military style after all. Just gotta layer up! I've been in proper downpours, it's actually kinda fun.

Yeah, they don't cancel unless it's like, a hurricane or something really extreme. Just wear waterproofs.

Anyone know if they actually offer an NHS discount? i work at the hospital and every little helps!

W Wendy 1 month ago
Yep, they do! I know a few nurses who get it. You usually have to mention it when you sign up or contact them directly.

Pretty sure it's one of their standard discounts. Just ask the instructor when you go for your first session.
